Concrete accepts unsolicited submissions from registered students of Emerson College, including fiction, non-fiction, screenplay, and anything else you deem “prose,” as well as poetry.

Our submission period for the Print Issue lasts from September 1 to January 19. Submit up to 5 total pages of poetry with each poem as a separate submission. (Maximum submission of 3 poems per reading period.) Submit up to 3 separate pieces of prose, each between 1,000 and 6,000 words.

Our submission period for each Online Issue begins on the first day of the month and ends on 11:59 PM on the fourteenth day of the month. Submit up to three poems per month, each as a separate submission. Submit up to three pieces of prose, each up to 1,000 words.

Please include a cover sheet that includes your name, Emerson ID, email address, phone number, and the title and genre of the work submitted. Do not include your name within the document of the piece. Please do not submit to both the Print and Online categories simultaneously. After receiving notification of our publication decision regarding your submission to one category, you are welcome to submit separately to the other category available.
